West Malling Farmers Market is pleased and proud to announce that we will have the very first Escorgot stall in a Farmers Market, here in November. That’s snails to you and me, edible snails. Organic, free range edible snails no less.
H & HR Escargots from Canterbury will be selling cooked snails in garlic butter in three different ways: hot to eat on the day with garlic bread, bottled to take home and reheat and as canapés in edible shells which make good party food. The canapés will be chilled so you can freeze them at home if you want to keep them for your next dinner party. They also sell smoked snails for eating cold, either bottled in rapeseed oil or vacuum packed ready for freezing. Slow food has really arrived.
From the website:
Snails have made a nutritious contribution to the human diet for 17,000 years. If you are concerned about the environment then you should consider using this natural resource from your garden or allotment.
