The recent report from the Food Standards authority about organic food has predictably caused a fuss in the papers.
“Organic food no good! “ Daily Moonshine.
“Tofu for toffs” Daily More Dross.
Now, it’s a 209 page report and we are not going to summarize it here. But one thing should be pointed out:
Why do most people eat organic food? Easy. So they have food without masses of pesticides and nasties on it.
And does the FSA study look at that? Hell no. From the report itself:
“This review does not address contaminant content (such as herbicide, pesticide and fungicide residues) of organically and conventionally produced foodstuffs.”
(Executive Summary, p2, para1).
Which means the report had nothing to say about pesticides and nasties on food.
